This project will provide improved domestic sea freight data to provide a national level of domestic sea freight movements.

The project involves enhancing the Coastal Freight Survey, coastal trading licencing, and Tasmanian Freight Equalisation Scheme datasets so that they can be more easily used to provide a comprehensive and accurate evidence base of domestic sea freight activity.

This project addresses enduring questions 1-3.

Outcomes

• Investigate ways to enhance comparability between the datasets to produce a more complete picture of domestic sea freight activity.
• Improvements (e.g., data cleansing and refinement to facilitate harmonisation) to the datasets to increase their overall utility for planning and decision-making purposes.
